3 toolsanalyze_receiptAnalyze a receipt for human reviewARead-onlyIdempotentInspect
Extract and validate structured expense data from receipt text or a provider-neutral receipt extraction. Use when an agent needs merchant, date, tax, total, line items, confidence, duplicate detection, and arithmetic validation before creating or reconciling an expense. The result is advisory and always requires human review. Paid tool: 0.25 USDC per accepted request. Requires an owner-authorized x402-capable client. Use get_receipt_example for a fixed free example.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| input | Yes | One receipt supplied as bounded OCR text or a provider-neutral structured extraction. Choose exactly one input kind. | |
| contract_version | Yes | Required request contract identifier; send this exact version string. | |
| existing_fingerprints | Yes | Receipt fingerprints already known to the caller for duplicate comparison. Supply lowercase 64-character SHA-256 hex strings, or an empty array when none are available; at most 10,000 entries. |

TDQS
Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?
Annotations provide readOnlyHint, idempotentHint, and destructiveHint=false, but the description enriches behavior beyond those: it states the tool is advisory ('always requires human review'), is paid at 0.25 USDC per accepted request, requires an owner-authorized x402-capable client, and performs duplicate detection. It also reveals that purchase_order references do not link an Ardaro job, which manages expectations. These are material behavioral facts not captured by annotations. No contradiction with annotations; the description says 'extract and validate' which is consistent with a read-only, idempotent operation.
Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.
Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?
The description is 4 sentences, packs the core purpose into the first sentence, and each subsequent sentence earns its place (usage condition, advisory/paid/auth constraints, sibling pointer). There is no filler or repetition of schema content.
Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.
Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?
Given a 3-parameter schema with 100% coverage, an output schema, and full annotations, the description covers the critical contextual facts: when to use it, that it is paid and requires a specific auth client, that results are advisory-only, and where to get a free example. The only potential omission is that no output schema is provided beyond the flag 'has output schema: true', but that structured output is not the description's burden. For an AI agent this is as complete as needed.
Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.
Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?
Schema description coverage is 100%; every parameter and property is described in the input schema, including the exact contract_version string, input kind selection, existing_fingerprints format, and each analysis field. The description does not need to repeat param syntax, but it does add a semantic caveat in the schema with purchase_order not linking to an Ardaro job. Baseline 3 applies because the schema carries the heavy lifting and the description is not required to compensate.
Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.
Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?
The description opens with a specific verb and resource: 'Extract and validate structured expense data from receipt text or a provider-neutral receipt extraction.' It enumerates the exact fields produced (merchant, date, tax, total, line items, confidence, duplicate detection, arithmetic validation) and states the result is advisory and always requires human review, which clearly distinguishes it from a creation or reconciliation tool. The advisory nature and mention of duplicate detection are specific enough to separate it from the sibling get_receipt_example, which is a free fixed example.
Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.
Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?
The description explicitly says 'Use when an agent needs merchant, date, tax, total, line items, confidence, duplicate detection, and arithmetic validation before creating or reconciling an expense.' It scopes the tool to pre-creation/reconciliation review and notes the two input forms (receipt text or provider-neutral structured extraction). It also names the sibling alternative, get_receipt_example, for a fixed free example, giving the agent a clear routing decision without opening schemas.
Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.

TDQS
Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?
Annotations already declare readOnly, idempotent, and non-destructive behavior. The description adds meaningful context beyond annotations: no user document is processed and no payment is authorized, and the result is a fixed synthetic example suitable for evaluation purposes.
Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.
Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?
The description is two sentences, front-loaded with the core purpose, and contains no filler. Every sentence adds distinct value: what it is, what it is not, and when to use it.
Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.
Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?
With no parameters, an output schema present, and annotations covering safety and idempotency, the description fully covers what an agent needs: the tool's nature, limitations, and intended use case. No critical context is missing.
Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.
Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?
The tool has zero parameters, so parameter semantics are trivially satisfied. The description reinforces this by stating the example is fixed, requiring no inputs. Per the baseline for zero-parameter tools, this is appropriate.
Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.
Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?
The description clearly identifies the tool as retrieving a fixed, free synthetic receipt example and explicitly contrasts it with processing user documents or authorizing payments. This distinguishes it from the sibling analyze_receipt tool without ambiguity.
Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.
Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?
The description explicitly states when to use the tool: 'Use this to evaluate Ardaro before any paid call.' It also clarifies what the tool does not do, implying it is not for real document processing. However, it does not name the sibling tool analyze_receipt as the alternative for actual receipt analysis.
Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
get_receipt_service_statusCheck receipt service readiness and terms for freeARead-onlyIdempotentInspect
Check receipt-service availability, configured USDC price/network, supported inputs, size limits, retention and exact-retry policy before authorizing a paid analyze_receipt call. Takes empty arguments {}; no receipt, credentials or payment metadata. Free and read-only: uses cached runtime readiness, performs no external health probe, analysis, payment or tenant lookup. A successful status lookup can report ready=false; wait until ready before starting paid work. This snapshot does not guarantee a later call or prove an individual payment settled. Use get_receipt_example to inspect a fixed sample result instead.

TDQS
Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?
The description adds substantial behavior beyond the annotations: it uses cached runtime readiness, performs no external health probe, no analysis/payment/tenant lookup, a successful status lookup can still report ready=false, and the snapshot does not guarantee a later call or prove payment settlement. These caveats meaningfully shape an agent's expectations and are not present in the readOnlyHint/idempotentHint/destructiveHint annotations. No contradiction.
Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.
Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?
Although the description is six sentences, every sentence carries distinct information: purpose, parameter semantics, read-only/free behavior, the ready=false caveat, the staleness caveat, and the sibling alternative. The critical purpose is front-loaded and no sentence is filler.
Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.
Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?
For a zero-parameter status-check tool with an output schema present, the description covers all the contextual ground an agent needs: what is checked, when to call it, cost/safety implications, failure semantics (ready=false), non-guarantees, and routing to the sibling. Nothing material is missing.
Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.
Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?
The tool takes zero parameters and the schema already shows an empty object, but the description reinforces this by stating 'Takes empty arguments {}; no receipt, credentials or payment metadata.' This goes beyond the schema by ruling out implicit or hidden arguments, which is valuable for an agent deciding whether the tool requires setup before invocation.
Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.
Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?
The description opens with a specific verb and resource: 'Check receipt-service availability, configured USDC price/network, supported inputs, size limits, retention and exact-retry policy.' It explicitly distinguishes this from siblings by naming analyze_receipt (the paid call this status check precedes) and get_receipt_example (the alternative for inspecting a fixed sample). An agent can immediately understand what this tool is and what it is not.
Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.
Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?
The description states exactly when to use the tool: 'before authorizing a paid analyze_receipt call', and adds the operational guidance 'wait until ready before starting paid work.' It also provides the sibling alternative get_receipt_example for when a fixed sample result is needed instead. The when-to-use and when-not-to-use context is explicit and actionable.
Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.

Frequently Asked Questions
Claiming proves that you control a remote MCP connector. It does not move, proxy, or interrupt the server.
Open the connector listing, choose Claim ownership, and sign in to Glama.
Complete one verification method:
GitHub identity — fastest for official registry listings. For a namespace such as
io.github.alice/server, link the matching GitHub user, then choose Claim with GitHub. An organization namespace such asio.github.acme/serveralso needs that organization to have installed the Glama AI GitHub App and approved its permissions, because GitHub discloses organization membership only to apps it has installed. Use HTTP or DNS when it has not.HTTP challenge — works when you can deploy a public file. Generate a token, publish the exact JSON Glama shows at
/.well-known/glama.jsonon the same origin as the connector, then choose Check HTTP challenge.DNS challenge — works when you control DNS but cannot change the server. Generate a token, create the exact TXT record Glama shows, wait for it to propagate, then choose Check DNS challenge.
After verification, Glama sends a confirmation email and gives you access to listing details, thumbnails, health checks, and analytics. Keep the HTTP file or DNS record in place: Glama periodically checks it and ownership remains verified while the token is discoverable.
The HTTP ownership file has this structure:
{
"$schema": "https://glama.ai/mcp/schemas/connector.json",
"claim": "glama_claim_..."
}Claim tokens are opaque, stable, and bound to the signed-in Glama account. They contain no email address or other personal information. If Glama can no longer discover a verified HTTP or DNS token, it starts a seven-day grace period before removing claim-based access. Restore the same token during that period to keep ownership verified. Never publish an email address, Glama session token, GitHub token, or connector credential as ownership proof.
If verification fails, confirm that you copied the current token exactly. The HTTP file must be public, return valid JSON with a successful HTTP response, and stay on the connector's origin. DNS changes may need more time to propagate. A claim cannot transfer to a different origin or hostname: if the connector target changes, Glama starts the grace period and the new target must be claimed separately after the previous claim is released.
For a connector linked to the official MCP Registry, registry updates continue to replace its name, description, and URL by default. After claiming, open Manage connector and enable Use Glama listing details as the source of truth if edits made on Glama should be preserved. Categories and thumbnails are always managed on Glama; registry linkage and technical connection settings continue to sync.
Control your server's listing on Glama, including description and metadata
Access analytics and receive server usage reports
Get monitoring and health status updates for your server
Feature your server to boost visibility and reach more users
To improve your MCP server's ranking:
Claim ownership of the server listing
Complete the server profile with an accurate description and thumbnail
Provide a test profile so Glama can connect to and evaluate the server
Keep tool definitions clear and complete to earn a high Tool Definition Quality Score (TDQS)
Route real usage through the Glama Gateway; more recorded successful server uses also improve the ranking
For users:
Full audit trail – every tool call is logged with inputs and outputs for compliance and debugging
Granular tool control – enable or disable individual tools per connector to limit what your AI agents can do
Centralized credential management – store and rotate API keys and OAuth tokens in one place
Change alerts – get notified when a connector changes its schema, adds or removes tools, or updates tool definitions, so nothing breaks silently
For server owners:
Proven adoption – public usage metrics on your listing show real-world traction and build trust with prospective users
Tool-level analytics – see which tools are being used most, helping you prioritize development and documentation
Direct user feedback – users can report issues and suggest improvements through the listing, giving you a channel you would not have otherwise
The connector status is unhealthy when Glama is unable to successfully connect to the server. This can happen for several reasons:
The server is experiencing an outage
The URL of the server is wrong
Credentials required to access the server are missing or invalid
If you are the owner of this MCP connector and would like to make modifications to the listing, including providing test credentials for accessing the server, please contact support@glama.ai.

Each tool has a clearly distinct role: one performs paid analysis, one provides a free sample, and one reports service status. There is no meaningful overlap or ambiguity between them.
All tool names follow a consistent snake_case verb_noun pattern with the receipt domain. analyze_receipt is the action, while get_receipt_example and get_receipt_service_status are clearly retrievals.
Three tools is appropriate for this narrow, paid-service server: a status check, a free example, and the paid analysis operation. Each tool earns its place without unnecessary bloat.
The tool surface fully supports the intended workflow: check service readiness, inspect a free example, then perform a paid receipt analysis. There are no obvious dead ends or missing operations for the server's stated purpose.
