3 toolsanalyze_receiptAnalyze a receipt for human reviewARead-onlyIdempotentInspect
Extract and validate structured expense data from receipt text or a provider-neutral receipt extraction. Use when an agent needs merchant, date, tax, total, line items, confidence, duplicate detection, and arithmetic validation before creating or reconciling an expense. The result is advisory and always requires human review. Paid tool: 0.25 USDC per accepted request. Requires an owner-authorized x402-capable client. Use get_receipt_example for a fixed free example.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| input | Yes | One receipt supplied as bounded OCR text or a provider-neutral structured extraction. Choose exactly one input kind. | |
| contract_version | Yes | Required request contract identifier; send this exact version string. | |
| existing_fingerprints | Yes | Receipt fingerprints already known to the caller for duplicate comparison. Supply lowercase 64-character SHA-256 hex strings, or an empty array when none are available; at most 10,000 entries. |

TDQS
Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?
Annotations declare readOnlyHint=true, idempotentHint=true, destructiveHint=false. The description adds a crucial behavioral trait beyond annotations: it is a 'Paid tool: 0.25 USDC per accepted request' and 'Requires an owner-authorized x402-capable client.' It also clearly discloses that the result is advisory and always requires human review. A small gap is that it does not mention what happens on validation failure or duplicate detection, but the core safety/cost behaviors are transparently disclosed.
Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.
Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?
The description is substantive but still tight: it front-loads the core function, then lists the exact data fields, then the advisory nature, cost, auth prerequisite, and sibling pointer. Each sentence earns its place, although the cost and x402 details could be viewed as operational rather than functional. Overall, it is efficient for a tool with three required parameters and a paid invocation model.
Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.
Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?
Given an output schema exists and the input schema carries 100% coverage, the description completes all the remaining operational context an agent needs: the accepted input modes (text or structured), the exact decision point (before creating/reconciling an expense), the cost, the authorization requirement, the advisory result requiring human review, and the free sibling alternative. Nothing needed to invoke it correctly is missing.
Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.
Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?
Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents all three parameters extensively, including the input.kind discriminator, existing_fingerprints format, and contract_version. The description adds useful top-level context (duplicate detection, human review, cost) but does not need to repeat the schema's parameter details. Baseline 3 is appropriate because structured data carries the parameter meaning.
Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.
Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?
The description opens with a specific verb ('Extract and validate'), a clear resource ('structured expense data from receipt text'), and a concrete outcome ('before creating or reconciling an expense'). It distinguishes itself from its only sibling by pointing to get_receipt_example for a fixed free example, so the agent can tell this paid analysis tool apart.
Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.
Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?
The description explicitly states when to use the tool: when an agent needs merchant, date, tax, total, line items, confidence, duplicate detection, and arithmetic validation before creating or reconciling an expense. It also provides a clear exclusion ('Use get_receipt_example for a fixed free example'), routes around cost/authorization requirements, and notes the result is advisory and always requires human review.
Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.

TDQS
Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?
Annotations already mark the tool as read-only, idempotent, and non-destructive. The description adds meaningful behavioral context: the receipt is free, fixed, synthetic, involves no user document processing, and authorizes no payment. This fully explains the tool's safety and side-effect profile beyond the annotations.
Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.
Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?
The description is only two sentences with no redundant phrasing. The core purpose and the key constraints ('free', 'fixed', 'synthetic', 'no user document', 'no payment') are front-loaded, making it easy for an agent to parse quickly.
Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.
Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?
For a zero-parameter tool with a rich output schema and thorough annotations, the description covers what the tool is, what it does, what it does not do, and when to use it. Nothing essential is missing for an agent to select and invoke it correctly.
Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.
Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?
The tool has zero parameters and the input schema is empty, so there is no parameter semantics burden on the description. Baseline for zero parameters is 4, and no additional parameter explanation is needed.
Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.
Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?
The description clearly states the tool returns a 'fixed synthetic receipt request and expected human-review result', identifying both the action and resource. It also distinguishes itself by noting no user document is processed and no payment is authorized, which differentiates it from the analyze_receipt sibling.
Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.
Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?
The description explicitly says to use this tool to evaluate Ardaro before any paid call, providing clear when-to-use guidance. It does not explicitly name analyze_receipt as the alternative for real receipts, but the contrast between synthetic example and paid analysis is strongly implied.
Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
get_receipt_service_statusCheck receipt service readiness and terms for freeARead-onlyIdempotentInspect
Check receipt-service availability, configured USDC price/network, supported inputs, size limits, retention and exact-retry policy before authorizing a paid analyze_receipt call. Takes empty arguments {}; no receipt, credentials or payment metadata. Free and read-only: uses cached runtime readiness, performs no external health probe, analysis, payment or tenant lookup. A successful status lookup can report ready=false; wait until ready before starting paid work. This snapshot does not guarantee a later call or prove an individual payment settled. Use get_receipt_example to inspect a fixed sample result instead.

TDQS
Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?
The description goes well beyond the readOnly/idempotent/destructive annotations by disclosing that it uses cached runtime readiness, performs no external health probe, analysis, payment, or tenant lookup, and may return ready=false. It also warns that the snapshot does not guarantee a later call or prove payment settlement.
Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.
Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?
The description is dense but every sentence earns its place: scope, empty arguments, read-only/cached behavior, ready=false handling, caveats, and sibling routing. It is front-loaded with the primary purpose and says nothing redundant.
Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.
Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?
The description is complete for a zero-argument status tool: it explains what it checks, when to use it, what it does not do, what a false readiness result means, and which sibling to use instead. The presence of an output schema means return-value details are not required here.
Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.
Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?
With zero parameters and an empty schema, the description still adds semantic value by explicitly stating it takes empty arguments {} and clarifying that no receipt, credentials, or payment metadata are involved. This removes any ambiguity about hidden inputs.
Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.
Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?
The description uses a specific verb ('Check') and names the exact resource and scope: receipt-service availability, USDC price/network, supported inputs, size limits, retention, and retry policy. It explicitly distinguishes itself from siblings by framing its purpose as a preflight before analyze_receipt and by pointing to get_receipt_example for sample results.
Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.
Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?
It gives clear when-to-use guidance: call before authorizing a paid analyze_receipt call, wait if ready=false, and do not treat the snapshot as a guarantee of later success or payment settlement. It also names the alternative get_receipt_example for inspecting a fixed sample result.
Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.

Frequently Asked Questions
Claiming proves that you control a remote MCP connector. It does not move, proxy, or interrupt the server.
Open the connector listing, choose Claim ownership, and sign in to Glama.
Complete one verification method:
GitHub identity — fastest for official registry listings. For a namespace such as
io.github.alice/server, link the matching GitHub user, then choose Claim with GitHub. An organization namespace such asio.github.acme/serveralso needs that organization to have installed the Glama AI GitHub App and approved its permissions, because GitHub discloses organization membership only to apps it has installed. Use HTTP or DNS when it has not.HTTP challenge — works when you can deploy a public file. Generate a token, publish the exact JSON Glama shows at
/.well-known/glama.jsonon the same origin as the connector, then choose Check HTTP challenge.DNS challenge — works when you control DNS but cannot change the server. Generate a token, create the exact TXT record Glama shows, wait for it to propagate, then choose Check DNS challenge.
After verification, Glama sends a confirmation email and gives you access to listing details, thumbnails, health checks, and analytics. Keep the HTTP file or DNS record in place: Glama periodically checks it and ownership remains verified while the token is discoverable.
The HTTP ownership file has this structure:
{
"$schema": "https://glama.ai/mcp/schemas/connector.json",
"claim": "glama_claim_..."
}Claim tokens are opaque, stable, and bound to the signed-in Glama account. They contain no email address or other personal information. If Glama can no longer discover a verified HTTP or DNS token, it starts a seven-day grace period before removing claim-based access. Restore the same token during that period to keep ownership verified. Never publish an email address, Glama session token, GitHub token, or connector credential as ownership proof.
If verification fails, confirm that you copied the current token exactly. The HTTP file must be public, return valid JSON with a successful HTTP response, and stay on the connector's origin. DNS changes may need more time to propagate. A claim cannot transfer to a different origin or hostname: if the connector target changes, Glama starts the grace period and the new target must be claimed separately after the previous claim is released.
For a connector linked to the official MCP Registry, registry updates continue to replace its name, description, and URL by default. After claiming, open Manage connector and enable Use Glama listing details as the source of truth if edits made on Glama should be preserved. Categories and thumbnails are always managed on Glama; registry linkage and technical connection settings continue to sync.
Control your server's listing on Glama, including description and metadata
Access analytics and receive server usage reports
Get monitoring and health status updates for your server
Feature your server to boost visibility and reach more users
To improve your MCP server's ranking:
Claim ownership of the server listing
Complete the server profile with an accurate description and thumbnail
Provide a test profile so Glama can connect to and evaluate the server
Keep tool definitions clear and complete to earn a high Tool Definition Quality Score (TDQS)
Route real usage through the Glama Gateway; more recorded successful server uses also improve the ranking
For users:
Full audit trail – every tool call is logged with inputs and outputs for compliance and debugging
Granular tool control – enable or disable individual tools per connector to limit what your AI agents can do
Centralized credential management – store and rotate API keys and OAuth tokens in one place
Change alerts – get notified when a connector changes its schema, adds or removes tools, or updates tool definitions, so nothing breaks silently
For server owners:
Proven adoption – public usage metrics on your listing show real-world traction and build trust with prospective users
Tool-level analytics – see which tools are being used most, helping you prioritize development and documentation
Direct user feedback – users can report issues and suggest improvements through the listing, giving you a channel you would not have otherwise
The connector status is unhealthy when Glama is unable to successfully connect to the server. This can happen for several reasons:
The server is experiencing an outage
The URL of the server is wrong
Credentials required to access the server are missing or invalid
If you are the owner of this MCP connector and would like to make modifications to the listing, including providing test credentials for accessing the server, please contact support@glama.ai.

Each tool has a clearly distinct role: paid receipt analysis, free sample output, and service/status preflight. There is no meaningful overlap or chance of selecting the wrong tool for a task.
All tools use lowercase snake_case with a verb prefix: analyze_receipt, get_receipt_example, get_receipt_service_status. This forms a predictable and readable pattern despite one tool using 'analyze' rather than 'get'.
Three tools is appropriate for this focused single-purpose server. Each tool earns its place: one paid action, one free evaluation helper, and one operational preflight check.
The tool set covers the full intended workflow: evaluating the service, checking readiness and pricing, then performing the paid analysis. No obvious dead ends or missing operations are apparent for the stated purpose.
